"There is a secret tradition in Christianity. There has been from its beginning, and there is today, although very few know about it or even understand it. The 'Mysteries of the Kingdom of God' pertain to certain instructions to Initiates concerning certain esoteric procedures which enable the Initiates to work in a special manner in the higher planes. This Work grants power to the Initiates to keep the world from the works of darkness by bringing to the earth health, peace, power, and blessing."
--from the written invitation to join HOAC, February, 1983.
New initiates were told that revealing anything about HOAC could put power in the hands of evil entities and would also bring incredibly bad karma to the revealer. These warnings kept me silent while I was in the order. Even after I left the order I thought it honorable to keep my vow of secrecy. I made my decision to publish anything at all about HOAC only after considerable thought, that is to say, after contemplating the issue during the 10 years after I left the order. Well, actually, I did not leave the order per se; rather, I suddenly stopped receiving codices for my degree work. One reason I have decided to say anything about the order is that I consider the discontinuation of lessons without explanation to be a breach of contract. I had dutifully copied by hand every previous codex and had been engaging in the required practices without fail. This brings me to the second and more important reason for writing about HOAC: Perhaps doing so--rather than bringing harm--will actually provide a valuable educational service.
According to HOAC teachings, the "mysteries of the kingdom of God" (Luke 8:10) include a knowledge of invoking angels. The HOAC nine beliefs, found in the fourth codex of the Monotarian degree, are as follows:
The practices within HOAC are called "theurgy," which means magic that draws directly upon the power of the Christian God. Some of the implements used in HOAC practices include a cestus containing colors corresponding to the archangels, a scrobis (a block of wood painted with colors and symbols), a patina (white plate with inscriptions on which the scrobis is placed) and colored candles. Certain yoga-like postures are assumed and the names of the angels are intoned a certain way as various faces of the scrobis are turned upward.
One of the most important implements in the practice of theurgy is a book called the Book of the Powers of God. Copies are created by dictating the book to initiates. I have been instructed not to show my Book to any "unmindful person." So do not look at this PDF copy of Book of the Powers of God unless you are a mindful person.
That should just about seal my karma.

PDF copy of the Book created and posted March 18, 2004. I was contacted this week by someone inquiring about the person whose name was removed by request, but I'm pretty sure he is a mindful person and not an evil entity.
